Bill Kegler has served as the Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Sports Complex and Enterprise Manager since January 2018, overseeing facility use for practices, games, and tournaments. His leadership in the sports community was recognized in 2024 when he was named a finalist for the Destination Madison Awards – Sports Champion of the Year by the Madison Area Sports Commission (MASC).
Prior to his role in facility management, Kegler built a strong coaching résumé as the head men’s basketball coach at Madison College, where he led the WolfPack to a 38–21 (.644) record from 2016–18. He was named North Central Community College Conference Coach of the Year in 2017–18 after guiding his team to one of its strongest seasons. He previously spent four years as an assistant coach under Scot Vesterdahl.
Kegler’s playing career included four seasons with the UW–La Crosse men’s basketball program (2004–2008), where he served as team captain, helped lead the team to one of its most successful seasons in two decades, and earned the program’s Dedication and Team Unity Award. He was also nominated to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
Beyond coaching, Kegler has held leadership roles in sports operations, including serving as General Manager at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells, where he directed daily operations, led the JustAgame Select AAU Basketball program, and served as lead skills instructor for camps and player development.
A native of Waterloo, Wisconsin, Kegler graduated from UW–La Crosse with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science (Sport Management, 2008) and earned his Master’s in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism from the University of Illinois Global Campus (2011).
He and his wife, Nya—a former college basketball player at UW–Whitewater—reside in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
